 | Intel has announced the final details on its new enthusiast (read: fanatic) motherboard, the Skulltrail. For an estimated price of $650, you can have the dual socket, quad-core supported, overclock-friendly motherboard. It supports a 1600MHz FSB, obviously two LGA 775 Core 2 processors, has 10 USB ports and 6 SATAII ports, and supports 4 PCI-e 2.0 slots that support either quad-SLI or quad-Crossfire, which neither AMD nor nVidia have drivers for yet. Of course, between two Extreme quad-core processors, 4 8800GTX's, 16GB of RAM, hard drives, and a mammoth PSU to power it all, you're looking at, at least 7 grand in parts to reap the full potential. Needless to say, money wouldn't mean anything to you if you're considering this setup, especially considering that no game supports such a set up right now. | |
